Between January and July 2024, Fibrewise Consulting delivered a full fibre survey and multi-stage design program across Port Vila and surrounding regions in Vanuatu, supporting Interchange Limited's telecommunications upgrades. The work confirmed existing routes, identified constraints and produced detailed fibre designs for both government and international landing station connectivity.

Interchange Limited needed a clear picture of existing fibre infrastructure across Port Vila before committing to a national upgrade program, along with design options weighing upgrading existing conduit against building new routes. With two international landing stations involved, the designs also needed to support future connectivity requirements beyond the immediate network.
We carried out a full survey on the ground across Port Vila and the Mele corridor, including two villages, using GPS tagged photos and Konect software mapping to validate existing fibre infrastructure. From that data, we produced five project stages and seven fibre design packages, each offering an existing-conduit option and a new-build route, giving Interchange Limited a clear comparison for every corridor.
The program delivered accurate multi-stage fibre designs, verified pit locations and route constraints, and connectivity designs for two proposed international landing stations. This gave Interchange Limited a reliable foundation for Vanuatu's future fibre expansion and government network upgrades.
